Lands five integrated branches: pipeline templates (#355), analytics opt-out (#354), 83 conversion presets bringing the catalog to 240 tools (#356), self-hosted positioning (#353), and e2e modernization (#351).
Integration fixes: aligned stale web analytics tests with the opt-out/allow-list model, closed 3 CodeQL incomplete-sanitization alerts in the i18n generator, resolved settings/index/docs/format-matrix conflicts, and corrected tool counts to 240.
Code fixes:
- Sidebar state bleed: reset file store on HomePage mount
- restore-photo: raise error instead of silently skipping colorize
when DDColor model missing
- PaddleOCR OOM: cap input images to 2048px before OCR inference
- Torch CPU optimization: use --index-url .../whl/cpu on CPU nodes
Test fixes:
- upscale: add exact:true to scale factor button locators
- smart-crop: add exact:true to "Pad to square" locator
- colorize: use regex for model button names (Best/Balanced/Fast)
- enhance-faces: use .first() for ambiguous percentage display
- passport-photo: fix DPI locator, .or() compound, generate fallback
- people: update maxUsers assertions for unlimited (0) default
- automate: "Save Pipeline" → "Save" matching actual button text
- tools.test: add resize to Sharp mock chain for OCR tests
- Fix SKIP_MUST_CHANGE_PASSWORD not affecting login/session API responses,
causing frontend redirect even when the env var was set after user creation
- Increase Docker Playwright timeouts (test: 600s, expect: 60s, AI processing: 300s)
to support CPU-only self-hosted environments
- Increase default rate limit from 100 to 50000 req/min for self-hosted deployments
- Fix OCR tests: use filechooser pattern (Dropzone has no static file input),
correct enhance checkbox default, rewrite for actual fixture behavior
- Fix remove-bg tests: update quality labels (Balanced→HD, Best→Max)
- Fix noise-removal skip guard: use waitFor() instead of instant isVisible()
- Fix automate pipeline save test: clean up stale E2E pipelines before assertion
- Add tool-specific suffix to output filenames so downloads don't overwrite originals (batch & single-tool routes)
- Skip deleting shared models when uninstalling a bundle that shares models with another installed bundle
- Auto-detect NVIDIA GPU and swap GPU-only pip packages (onnxruntime-gpu, paddlepaddle-gpu) for CPU equivalents
- Refactor docker-compose with YAML anchors and explicit cpu/gpu profiles
- Add libheif-plugin-x265 to Dockerfile
- Fix install-all queue logic to handle concurrent individual installs and clear stale errors
- Unify playwright docker config to use same test dir with API_URL env var
- Fix flaky e2e selectors, rename Strip Metadata → Remove Metadata, handle collage custom dropzone, improve fallback test image generation

Two issues caused intermittent step addition failures in the automation
pipeline:
1. RemoveBgControls had onChange in its useEffect deps. Since onChange is
a new function reference on every parent render, this created an
infinite re-render loop (effect -> setState -> render -> effect).
Fixed by using the onChangeRef pattern matching other settings
components.
2. All step mutation callbacks read from stepsRef.current and passed
values to setSteps. Concurrent callbacks (e.g. addStep + a settings
effect) would overwrite each other. Fixed by switching to functional
state updates (setSteps(prev => ...)) and removing stepsRef.
Also rewrites automate e2e tests to use manual step addition instead of
referencing templates that no longer exist in the UI.
Extract EXIF auto-orientation logic into a shared auto-orient module
used by both single-tool and batch routes. This ensures camera photos
display correctly after processing regardless of entry point.
Also expands e2e and integration tests significantly.
