SnapOtterandGitHub 5f21588f6c chore: prepare the 2.2.0 release (#660) 
Bumps every version surface to 2.2.0, fixes a latent version-coupling bug in the
OCR runtime tests, and stops an absent GPU runner from silently stalling a
release.

Version surfaces: scripts/sync-version.sh covers the 11 workspaces, APP_VERSION,
and the docs release commands across all locales. Root package.json plus the
three surfaces the script never reaches are done by hand: the DOCKERHUB.md banner
and tag table, the docker-tags.md pinning table in 21 locales, and the example
runtimeVersion in tools/image/ocr.md in 21 locales. The release-notes archive step
is deliberately not pre-run, so the notes text stays editable until the release.

Latent bug: runtime-state rejects any runtime whose compatibility.snapotterVersion
is not exactly APP_VERSION, and five fixtures pinned the literal 2.1.0. Since
semantic-release rewrites APP_VERSION on every release, the first PR after any
bump would have gone red for a reason nobody would trace to the release. The
fixtures now derive from APP_VERSION.

GPU runner: sign-ocr-index needs verify-ocr-nvidia on self-hosted hardware, and
the gated manifest job needs ai-bundles, so a missing runner queued instead of
failing and produced no image tags. preflight-gpu-runner claims the same labels
with no dependencies, so it is scheduled first and validates the GPU before the
90-minute build. An API preflight is impossible because listing self-hosted
runners needs Administration:read, which GITHUB_TOKEN cannot hold, so RELEASE.md
carries the maintainer-side check.

SnapOtterandGitHub d10d0f544f fix: release QA hardening across processing, media, security, and CI gates (#649) 
A release-readiness QA pass over the whole product. The commits split into
defects a user would hit and gates that were reporting green while measuring
nothing.

## Fixes that change behaviour

Rate limiting was bypassable on every install: TRUST_PROXY defaulted to true, so
request.ip came from a client-set header and a forged X-Forwarded-For got past
the login limiter. The default is now a private-network trust list.

A transient Postgres outage stranded in-flight jobs, leaving finished output on
disk with no row pointing at it. A reconciler now resolves those rows and adopts
the bytes rather than dropping the work.

A Redis connection that moved to a new address wedged every read-blocked
consumer, so completions stopped signalling while health still answered 200.
Socket timeouts plus subscriber pings recover it.

Installing more than one AI bundle left the shared venv multi-versioned and
silently broke three tools. The installer now reconciles distributions to one
version each.

Converting an image to JXL at quality 1 through 4 returned a 500, because
libjxl 0.7 rejects the distance those values compute. The quality is floored at
what the encoder honours. A missing ffmpeg was also reported to the user as a
corrupt upload; it now says the engine is unavailable.

RAW uploads reached an unpatched LibRaw on arm64, so it is built from source at
0.22.2, and the release scan was split so it can fail on an unfixed critical
instead of hiding it behind ignore-unfixed.

## Gates that could not fail

Two mutation lanes ran zero mutants because Stryker crawled the gitignored docs
build; coverage discarded its whole report on any failing test; the lint gate
skipped root tests, scripts, and two workspaces; and several generated matrices
counted a host missing ffmpeg as a passing tool. Each now measures what it
claims.

Full evidence and the outstanding release items are tracked locally and are not
part of this branch.

SnapOtterandGitHub e6718ada71 fix(seo): emit clean docs URLs and de-index the demo (#598) 
The docs sitemap listed .html URLs that Cloudflare Pages 308-redirects to
their clean form, while every page's canonical/hreflang already pointed at
the clean URL. Google indexed the redirecting .html variant and picked its
own canonical (GSC "Duplicate, Google chose different canonical"), and burned
crawl budget re-fetching redirecting URLs. Setting VitePress cleanUrls:true
makes the sitemap and internal links extension-less so they match the
canonicals. CF Pages already serves the clean URL at 200 and 308s the .html
form, so no hosting change is needed and legacy .html hits consolidate.

Also mark demo.snapotter.com noindex: it mirrors the real app under the same
domain property, so its routes were being crawled and indexed as thin,
duplicate pages.

SnapOtterandGitHub ae6a4c8b7c fix: error-only Sentry telemetry, storm-proof capture, and crash fixes (#476) 
Removes Sentry tracing entirely (BullMQ idle polling burned 4.8M transactions in 2 days at the baked 0.1 rate), decouples PostHog sampling, and replaces the type-only error scrub with a vetted-field sanitizer plus SafeError/ToolInputError contracts. One classified capture path with per-signature throttles and a per-process ceiling makes storms impossible (NODE-1E was 4,541 events from one 30s loop). Browser errors move to a dedicated web Sentry project with their own source maps. Adds the SNAPOTTER_TELEMETRY runtime kill switch and silences test fleets.

Crash fixes: remote 204/304 SSRF process kill (NODE-20), conversion-preset boot crash loop (NODE-21), Redis version preflight + unhandled subscribe rejection (NODE-1T), Sign PDF on plain-http origins (NODE-1K/1M), wavesurfer/pdf.js teardown rejections (NODE-1P/1N), bundle-import ZlibError to 400 (NODE-1Z), chart-maker input errors declassified (NODE-1H/1J), asset requests skip the session DB lookup (NODE-1D).

SnapOtterandGitHub a6e8f75074 feat(demo): populate the Files library with sample files (#465) 
Seed eight sample files across modalities in the demo Files library and mock the list (search + pagination), details with version history, bulk delete, and thumbnails. Thumbnails are generated colour-coded SVG tiles served through the interceptable fetch path, so the grid always renders with no real file bytes. Uploads/processing stay disabled.

Rewrite the demo mock API around a seeded in-memory dataset with correct response shapes so the People/Teams/Roles/Audit/Usage/API-keys tabs stop crashing (the /auth/users vs /v1/users mismatch caused users.filter() on undefined) and show realistic sample data. In-memory CRUD makes the settings buttons work. Copy edit-image.png into the demo so the mobile editor icon renders. Adds unit shape guards and an e2e admin-settings walkthrough.

* fix(landing): correct PDF tool count to 28 in alternatives copy

The pdf section has 28 tools (section.test.ts asserts bySection('pdf')=28). PR #363 corrected the docs breakdown but the alternatives pages still said 40 PDF tools (the document-modality count, not the pdf section) with 200 for the rest. Update to 28 PDF tools and 212 for the non-PDF remainder.

* chore: use "200+ tools" for the tool-count claim across public surfaces

Replaces the exact '240 tools' count (which drifts as tools are added) with the stable '200+ tools' on README, the Docker Hub overview, landing pages, the docs site (meta, homepage, search), the API self-description, the demo OG tag, llms.txt, package.json, the branding readme, and the en/nl app strings. Per-modality breakdown tables stay exact. Leaves the architecture doc's technical 'tool routes' figure, an internal vitest comment, and a QA report line unchanged. Updates the two tests that assert the docs strings.

* docs: clarify file retention vs saved-library persistence

FILE_MAX_AGE_HOURS only affects unsaved processing results (raw uploads
and tool outputs). Files saved to the Files library persist until the
user deletes them. Spell that out in the configuration table and the
getting-started Files section.

* chore(demo): drop removed per-user analytics from the mock API

#336 deleted the per-user analytics consent system (the DB columns, the

* fix(gitignore): anchor demo ignore to root so apps/demo stays trackable

A bare 'demo' pattern matched any dir named demo, including the tracked
apps/demo workspace. New files under apps/demo were silently ignored and
lint-staged choked re-adding it. Root demo/ (the intended target) no
longer exists; anchor the rule to /demo. Build artifacts under apps/demo
stay ignored via the global dist/ and .turbo/ rules.

SnapOtter 620552569e feat!: SnapOtter 2.0.0 
Bump all workspace package versions and APP_VERSION to 2.0.0, marking the
official 2.0 release. Removes the stale 1.x .release-notes.md artifact
(semantic-release regenerates release notes). The 2.0/multimodality docs
and rebrand already landed on main via #254 and #261, so this carries only
the version designation forward from the rebrand branch.

BREAKING CHANGE: SnapOtter 2.0 - the platform re-architecture (Postgres 17 +
Redis 8 + BullMQ durable jobs, 157 tools across five modalities) is the 2.0
release line, replacing the 1.x SQLite single-container architecture.

The docs and metadata still described the 1.x stack (SQLite, single container, p-queue). Update them to the current 2.0 reality.

The spec covered only image tools; the Scalar UI and the generated /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt inherited that gap. Add the 104 missing tool endpoints so the API docs match the code.

- Video: 29 endpoints (most long/async; auto-subtitles is AI)
- Audio: 17 (transcribe-audio is AI)
- Document/PDF: 36 (ocr-pdf is AI; conversions are long/async)
- Data: 10
- Image: 12 newer tools (background-replace, blur-background AI; histogram/lqip-placeholder/sprite-sheet custom responses; barcode-generate uses a JSON body)

Each schema is derived from the tool's Zod validator and executionHint (fast -> 200, long -> 202+SSE, AI adds 501 FeatureNotInstalledError, multi-file inputs as arrays), referencing the existing shared schemas. Tool path entries: 64 -> 168. Spec parses as valid YAML with no duplicate paths and only known $refs.

* fix(test): resolve vitest 3.2.6 mock path breakage for posthog-node and @sentry/node

Add posthog-node and @sentry/node to vitest resolve aliases (matching
the existing pattern for all other api-workspace packages) and switch
the analytics test mocks from fragile relative node_modules paths to
bare specifiers. Vitest 3.2.6 changed how it matches mock paths through
pnpm symlinks after vi.resetModules(), causing 9 analytics test failures.

SnapOtter 4eb07ae2fd fix: allow demo indexing and update navbar test for Try Demo CTA 
Remove noindex meta tag from demo so Google can index demo.snapotter.com.
Update navbar test to match renamed "Try Demo" button (was "Book a Demo").

SnapOtter 228f70d011 feat: add static demo site at demo.snapotter.com 
- New apps/demo/ that reuses apps/web components with mocked API layer
- Full UI shell: login, change password, analytics consent, dashboard, all tool pages
- Stateful mock tracks session flow (password change, analytics consent)
- Demo banner with link to GitHub repo
- Processing attempts show info message with GitHub link
- Deployed to Cloudflare Pages as static site (no backend)

Also links demo across all surfaces:
- README: "Live Demo" badge
- Landing navbar: "Try Demo" CTA button (replaces "Book a Demo")
- Landing hero: "No sign-ups. No credit card." tagline
- Docs getting-started: "Try before installing" tip box

Other changes:
- Docs: move NVIDIA GPU section above GHCR, demote GHCR to collapsed details
- Fix before-after slider checkerboard background for transparency
- Fix remove-bg preview reset when no effects applied
